Back in May, I was asked to photograph a wedding reception for my lovely friends, Cathy and Martin on this luxurious yacht called Empress. Ironically, Martin was my DJ for my wedding back in October of 2007. So, when his long time girlfriend, Cathy asked me to photograph their special occasion, I was honored and ecstatic.

I met them through friends when I moved from LA to SF 8 years ago. I didn’t know Cathy that well, but one thing I did notice about Cathy through the years was that she always took care of everyone around her. From kitchen cleaning duties to making someone their drink at house parties, she was a ‘mother’ figure to all of us. She will forever be that dependable, generous, fun person that you always want to have in your life. Martin is Scottish and I always loved hearing him talk. Sometimes I couldn’t understand what he was saying, but nevertheless, he always made me smile and he is one hell of a DJ. His music made all of us groove on the dance floor. It was contagious. No doubt.

Congratulations again Cathy & Martin! You two are so lovely and I will never forget all the fun times we had in San Francisco!
