Austin Family Music Festival

The Biscuit Brothers! Live music! Farm animals! What’s not to like about the 6th Annual Austin Family Music Festival?!?! This awesome event was held last weekend at the historical Pioneer Farms. I have never heard of this wonderful farm before and boy, was I crazy about this place. The weather could not have been more perfect for a day of fun in the sun with our kids. I wish the weather like this ALL the time in Austin. I could dream, couldn’t I?! Our friends Alan, Kathyrn and their beautiful daughter, Siobhan joined us and we had a blast with them.

Meet Buddy. A baby black sheep that was 6 weeks old. Very sweet and he was great with us. I  was especially fond of Buddy since I have never seen a live sheep myself. I think I was more giddy about meeting him than our kids I think. People with kids always told me that my life would be different after having kids of my own because I would live my life through their eyes. That certain is true now for me and I am so much more appreciative of life than I ever was before.

This is Jordan. He works here at the General Store. Very soft spoken cowboy.

Pioneer Farms offers classes such as Dutch oven cooking, quilting, knifemaking and even blacksmithing.

I loved the fact that Jalen was able to see, touch and feel almost everything this farm had to offer to the public including this antique plow.

Of course we had to see the donkeys!!!! I mean, “bonkeys” as Alan called them.

While visiting one of the old farm house that displayed many different music instruments for kids, I came across this little cutie named Gus. I could not resist taking photos of him. He held onto this guitar like a pro and knew how to ROCK it!

Gus’ mom said his father was a musician. Then it all made sense. A musician in training! Loved his outfit. Loved his red boots. Loved him!

Time to go home after a fun day at the farm. (Thanks Kathryn for taking this photo for us.) Whether it’s with my family or with a client for a photo shoot, I’m definitely coming back. I highly recommend you stop by this wonderful, historical farm if you haven’t yet.

Thanks to The Biscuit Brothers for coming to Austin and putting on a fabulous family music event!
