Coming soon…

Andrew + Holly ENGAGED!

I’m SO HAPPY to finally post this blog entry about Andrew Barrera and Holly Moss. Andrew contacted me few months ago asking if I would shoot their wedding, even though he knew I don’t do weddings. I asked if we can meet and of course, I fell in love with both of them instantly. The thought of actually shooting a wedding got me so nervous, at the end of our meeting, I even went as far as asking them to meet and interview other photographers in order to make sure that I was the one they wanted to hire. Who does that?!?! ME! LOL I tried everything possible to make them see that I wasn’t their photographer, but I failed to convey my message. Instead, I think they saw that I genuinely cared about them and well, they wanted to hire me. I gladly accepted their proposal few weeks ago and I still can’t believe I’m shooting their wedding!!!! Eeek! It’s going to be at The Long Center and it’s going to FABBBBULOUS!!!!

Andrew is in the film industry based out of Austin and travels quite a bit depending on where his assignment take him. Last year, he had Holly fly out to Alaska and proposed to her there. On camera! Talk about putting her on the spot! Luckily, she said YES and they are about to start a life long journey together real soon.

Holly is an Activities Director at a local Assisted Living Home. I’m pretty sure her golden smiles light up the room every day. How could you NOT smile when you see her?! It’s no secret that she’s gorgeous. And it’s no surprise why Andrew fell for Holly the way he did. She’s gorgeous AND possess a heart of gold.

Here are some fun questions I asked Andrew.

1) What is your theme song?
I am currently into Tron right now! I think its amazing, but one of my favorites and Holly can attest to this is the theme song to WALL-E
2) Who are your favorite heroes in real life?
Tim Tebow… no in all seriousness the real heros I don’t even know their names, they are the ones that fight for our freedom everyday.
3) If you weren’t in your current career, what else would you try?
I think if all else fails with my career I will try and get a job that had something to do with water and the beach.. I lifeguarded once, I can do it again.
4) What is the biggest challenge you have overcome?
The biggest challenge I have overcome is learning to laugh at myself. To this day its still hard but it helps to not take myself so seriously all the time.
5) What is the one thing that people don’t generally know about you?
People don’t generally know that I have dyslexia, or Had anyway. Thanks to computers and people around me to re read my writing before I send it out. Not this one of course.

What I love about Andrew and Holly is that they’re not your typical twenty-something couple. They showed me their Xmas cards that they created for the past few years. I really loved how creative they are, as a couple. They think out-of-the-box each year and they seem to have so much FUN together. If you spent some time with them, you would know what I’m talking about and feel it too. They light each other up when they are together. Literally. That kind of love is so magical and beautiful…

Here are some fun questions I asked Holly.

1) What book has inspired you?  This makes me realize I read more for pleasure than inspiration!
As boring (or cheesy) as they may sound, they have given me a deeper understanding of some of the things in life I am passionate about: “The Stanislavski System,” “A Guide To Understanding Alzheimers,” the book of Proverbs, and yes, I’m ashamed to say, “Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.”

2) Who is your fantasy dinner party guest?

Christopher Walken.  I love him and all of his strangeness (also, I would really like to know more about what happened to Natalie Wood).

3) What are you nostalgic for?

So many things, but my intial thought? Airplane peanuts, my granny used to save hers for me everytime she got them on a flight. And also, lightening bugs.

4) What is one thing you cannot live without?

Oooh, it’s a toss up between Andrew and The Food Network…

5) What is the one thing that people don’t generally know about you?

I do wardrobe changes in my car on a regular basis, like, maybe once a week.

CONGRATULATIONS Andrew & Holly on your engagement. I cannot express enough how honored I am to be your wedding photographer. I cannot wait to share your special day with you both.
